My Farewell Post To Digg

So, now we had a fair competition. There’s been a so long time for “team-voting” method by the diggers to help their digg post go to the frontpage. After the boss change the rules, not everybody are happy with that.

They’re not happy because Digg begin to be democratic. So far, I like the way of this new voting algorithm. Now we can say that not the popular blog or site will hit the frontpage only.

I bet some of us are trying so hard to get our articles to be at the frontpage. Their voting system seem favor already famous blog like Techcrunch. Engadget,Gizmodo and many more mainstreams blog else. I’m admit that they oftenly provide good articles, but sometimes they also provide a crappy-not-hype articles abd still get biger and bigger.

The question is why it is so hard to get to the frontpage of Digg? I would like to know the answer from all the diggers. IMO, the answer is :

you are a loser

So the diggers, please spread your wisdom here and teach me how to get to the forntpage of Digg. I would like to received my first Digg Effect!

A Reality Of Blogging You Must Know

cat blogging

Blogging is fun, easy and a great way to meet others and become a part of a wonderful, growing community. But, before you begin though, there are a few things you should know.

1) It Takes A Lot Of Hardwork Than You Think

– Unless you just create up a personal blog, it just takes a bit. But if you intend to make money with it, you just came into a False Hope Zone. More than 90% of the bloggers create a blog to make money. But then you must realize that it not as easy as you might think and it even horror dream for new blogger.

Some of them had fail to establish themselves and mostly been wipe out in the blog arena after 1 years because they had fail to achieve their dream. But don’t take it as a serious advise as you can blog to make money(if you intend so) if you had a proper plan what you are going to blog.

You’ll have to get out there and do a bit of shameless self promotion. It’s not enough to post and wait. Your content has to be optimized for search and you’ll want to drive others to your site. You’ll have to visit other blogs and forums and pimp the heck out of your blog without being spammy and annoying.

2) Traffic Will Kill You Fast Enough

-Traffic didn’t come easily unless you had a hefty budget to advertise at others established bloggers like Shoemoney,Problogger, John Chow & Cow, or even at Techcrunch if you dare to put $10,000 away. Sure from this, you will get famous soon enough but what is the reward you get?

Unless you are promoting a product or services, advertising like that might help you a lot but if you just creating a blog, this is a hell you must avoid. Advertising is the proper but expensive way to get famous and if you dare, you might be walking like a champ and if you fail, you just running like a chimp anyway.

If you’re brand new to blogging and think you’ll have hundreds of visitors in the first week, even in the first few months, you couldn’t be more wrong. It takes time, patience and trust to build up an audience. It’s not enough to sit back and hope they show up.

3) Revenue Will Takes Time

-If you think you can make a gazillion dollars right after you make the first post, you already in the mouth of shit hole. It’s a day dreamers way to think like that. Some of popular bloggers like John Chow takes 1 year to made it profitable. And for me, it took about 4 months just to get my first $1.

If you don’t have enough traffic, you will not have the money.Period. Build your readership, get traffic first, then you can monetize your blog. As my experience state that 1000 unique visitors per-day must be your first goal to achieve if you want to monetize your blog.

If you’re serious about blogging, you can do very well, but don’t jump into it blind. Do your research. Learn how to optimize your content and drive traffic to your blog. Research the different ways in which you can montetize your blog and work on building up a community. The people who take the time to do it right are the ones who do well.

New Year Resolution-2008 Ultimate List

Sincerely, I never make a resolution like this before in my life and this will be new and *tough* to me. And perhaps Allah S.W.T will praise me and guide me to achieve what I want this year.

1)  Getting Married

– This could never be prolong anymore. I already can’t wait to get married with my fiance right now. We was trying 4 years in a row to get this and now, I hope this year our dream will come true. Before this, money be the problem and until now, it also because of money. But now, it only a minor and I will keep pushing myself to the limit to get this goal to be achieved.

2) Blog, Site

– After I sold my blog in November last year, I regret that it was the heart-breaking moment in my life. I knew it could be better and for this time, I just not looking back either. The first thing in my schedule was to buy domains for this blog, for my media company that will take care everything,my media blog and site networks, my ads system for taking care all the ads media sales, and for my new affiliate site.

This will be a huge efforts and will include a vast amount of money and for that, I do loan with CIMB for RM 5000 or $ 1500++ for the equivalent amount in USD. There was only 3 persons now working in my online company and I do want more. But with the tiny little budget, we can’t do nothing until we get achieved our company target for this year.

3) Gain More Knowledge

– This year, I will get my LCCI Diploma In Accounting because this will get me a higher emolument for my salary in the government sector. Take an exam as private candidate and shoot up to take the Level 3 papers. I had buy the books and it seems not to differ form my syllabus before.

4) Working on my ideas

– Ideas only can’t make you go anywhere.Execution of the ideas is the important part. You never really knows until you try.Fail or succes is a parody. One of them will be a social site that currently take the most of my sleep time now. A very new social stigma that had a better feature for all users and never compromise with the user security information. Traffic will not be the only sole way, the quality one will assured. And it will not be a dumb social site like Zed said in his so fucking awesome blog post.

5) Managing my expenses well

– This could be important part as I was a pathetic person when managing my money although my major was accounting. Last month was my tragedic moment. I never knew that last month total expenses was RM 2100 and it was so strive when you aware that you just had a new mobile phone, 2 pairs of clothes and pants, 1 boxer, and a new 4 GB Apacer Pendrive and the total for all of this was RM 1300. So, where’s my others money being flush? I will take care for this now.

6) Buy myself a car, I mean my car.

-Now I’m using my brother car.And I target a MyVi for me. Don’t ever try to change my will for this.

7) Be A Good Person

-I’m 25 years old and now, whatever I do, I will make sure I’m think twice before do it. Only I know how bad I am.

8) Surely, To Gain More Readers

– Come on lads, my blog was the best to read,to comment, and to hack.So please feel free to be my loyal readers. I set a goal for 5000 unique visitors per month this year.
